I have a Petro Can pay as you go with a BC number - can't order pizza for delivery with an AB number!

Easy. Place the call using the phone patch of your local repeater (At least that's what I used to do before there were cellphones.)

can I buy a SO phone in Calgary and have my Petro Can BC number ported over to the SO phone.

I don't see why not. You'll have to prove that the phone number is yours, probably by giving them your PCM voicemail password. As iamdrumming suggests, call CS and ask. Since both PCM and SO are offered by the same MVNO (ztar) they should be able to advise you how best to do the port since they'll end up doing both sides.

I would call the customer service dept with this specific question. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to port your Petro Can BC number to a Speak Out Alberta number. Definitely give customer service a call though.

Hi:
I have been browsing the forum and looks like it is time for me to switch from Petro Can Mob to SO. I live in Alberta but spend the summers in BC. I have a Petro Can pay as you go with a BC number - can't order pizza for delivery with an AB number! When my current time runs out, can I buy a SO phone in Calgary and have my Petro Can BC number ported over to the SO phone. Or do I have to wait till I get to Vancouver.

I am switching because of the short expiry times on PCM now. The phone gets very little use between November and March.
Thanks in advance
Raj
