SpeakOut's days are not numbered.

a) SpeakOut uses 2G, as well as Rogers 3G network. If your phone can only access the 2G signal, upgrade your phone. Speakout offers HSPA+.

b) Unless you hear it from Rogers, don't believe everything you read on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is just a place where anyone can add any info on a topic, whether it is accurate or not. It can be greatly outdated as well.

According to these 2 wikipedia articles/somewhat common knowledge:

a) Speakout is Ztar which uses Rogers 2g/GSM network

b) Rogers is supposed to be shutting down 2g/GSM at some point. Wikipedia says in 2018, although Rogers has not officially announced anything to my knowledge, unless someone here is in the know?

So are Speakout's days numbered?

Wondering if I should do my usual $100 top up with $25 bonus current promo before my balance expires, but if Speakout goes away end of 2018 it may not be worth it since I have lots of balance still and maybe just do $25...
