Call SO CS and ask them. But even so, how much confidence would you have in their answer? Do you really want to have to argue with them after you lost your airtime because you were a few hours late to recharge your phone? (And for all we know they have a 24 hour grace period so that none of this is relevant.)

More reasons why it's dangerous to leave top-ups to the [literally] very last minute. Is it really that important whether you get a 364 or 365 day extension?

Further to this topic, if the *777 message says that your airtime expires on June 1, 2009, exactly what time on June 1 does this happen? At 12:01am June 1, or 11:59pm June 1? Is June 1 the last day your airtime is active, or the first day your airtime is gone? (I looked in the FAQ both here and the 7-11 site, and did not see this detail explained.) And, how do time zones fit into this? June 1 occurs in Halifax a few hours before it occurs in Vancouver.

That's also possible. One more reason why it's dangerous to leave top-ups to the [literally] very last minute. Is it really that important whether you get a 364 or 365 day extension?

Bummer, last night I added air time at about 30 minutes past midnight in Ontario. My date of expiration is still October 31 instead of November 1.

Actually, if you do your math, your expiry date is acurate - exactly 365 days from the topup time minus the 30 minutes past midnight. If you had added the airtime before midnight, it would expire October 30 and that would be a bummer, because you would lose almost one day
If you do the calculation here: http://www.timeanddate.com/dat.....#038;s2=59
.... you will find out that your airtime will expire in 364 days, 23 hours, 29 minutes and 59 seconds from the time of recharge.

No. I have 2 phones. The first one was added 00:30 Nov 1 2008 EST, and expired Oct 31 2009. The second was added 8:00 am Nov 1, 2008 and expired Nov 1, 2009. My point is: SO server is running on a time standard west of Ontario.

Why is that a "bummer"? Does one day make any real difference?

FWIW my previous expiration date was 25Sep08. I had to leave on 01Sep for an overseas trip with my return on 26Sep. IOW I would lose my existing airtime balance by the time I got back. So I had no choice but to renew airtime on 31Aug, thus losing almost a month -- a period during which I couldn't even use the phone anyway.

That's life. And SO remains a great deal regardless.
