Nokia phones usually have good audio, and they have very good radios and antennas. The 2730 is not one of Nokia's better phones, so if you were OK with it, you are in for a treat with your next Nokia! If you can, try before you buy your phone.

Likely stating something you already know, but the power mains in Australia are different than the ones in Canada. You might have to get another charger for the phone. If the charger label says it can do from 110 to 220 volts, you just need is the correct adaptor, the charger will automatically figure out what to do with the voltage.

I can use the same phone for my Speakout SIM and SIMs when I go to most other countries. It's probably time to upgrade anyway. Thanks for all the advice.

Not only is your Speakout Nokia 2760 dual band elusively for the North American market, it is also locked. You would need a quad band 3rd party phone, which would work in pretty much everywhere in the world. It would also work with your Speak out sim.

Alternatively, is it likely my phone is unlocked (purchased July 2009) and would accept a sim card from another pre-paid service provider in Australia (whoever they are!). I of course want to switch it back when I return to Toronto. Hannah
