apparently you can now buy SIMs separately. You have to call Speakout, pay at 711, then they ship the SIM to you.

Yes, this has been confirmed through a speakout email. Thank you. I have to decide now whether I should go for the phone (well, something like an additional battery for only $14 extra, better if they still have the $100 deal). or just the SIM card.

A couple of days ago, my PC account expired accidentally, Yes, I know, my fault, I even forgot my online password 15 minutes before midnight, so my account was locked for some time. Calling them did not help. Anyhow, I was considering to jump ship to speakout, but the balance I had there (just over $60) made me hesitant. At least now I do not have that limitation. My question is, could I buy a SIM card only, since I already have a few GSM phones around? (OTOH, a $50 voucher plus $39 phone for a whole year, may not be that bad!)
