I'm using the new Nokia 5200 phone from 7-11. I tried to use random mp3's that I have as ringtones with no luck. apparently that phone needs .aac or .mxsomething or other.

anyway, if your phone also accepts .aac files, use iTunes option to convert your .mp3 or .mpeg files to .aac, upload to phone, and that should work.

trying it as we speak...

Edit: tried this method and it didn't work... Perhaps there is a file size limit, since all my aac or mp3s are big while ringtones are usually in kilobytes. Also, when I browse my SIM card on the computer, none of the ringtones show up, which I find weird. No clue how to do this yet. Will keep trying.

I'm having issues using personal MP3s as ring tones on my phone. I have uploaded them in no problem, it's just the phone won't allow it to be set as a ring tone.

The only difference I see between my ring tones and the included tones is that theirs are copyright protected and mine aren't.

I will try to change that on the files before transfering on my phone and post my results.

If anyone else knows how to do that or if there is another reason for my phone not allowing personal MP3 be set up as ring tones, please let me know.

(is this a similar issue with other phones?)
