Up to now, I've been using the text feature on my SO Nokia model 5130 without any added charges....I note that SO has "new" plans, including texting and browsing. Do I have to subscribe from here on in.....or can I continue using texting when the SIM goes into the iPhone?

This was a phone previously locked to Rogers on a contract. My partner's contract runs out shortly and the phone will be availble.
Can I take my SO SIM card and pop it into the iPhone ....or do I have to get the iPhone unlocked first?
