I have no experience with the nokia x2, but if unlocked, it should work fine with Speakout, because it is a quad band GSM phone.

Thanks. Interestingly, I've seen reference here that Rogers phones, and some Fido, should work fine on SO -- because it's the same network!

Anyhow, I'm looking more closely at this phone now.
