Hello, anyone?

The external display (manual calls it "cover display") just shows up blank when I first open or close the thing, then fades away. At no point can I get it to display anything. Looks like the software version is 9.55. The model variant is 255.01.

Any tips would be appreciated. The manual's got nothing.

I've got a Nokia 2720 with the SpeakOut service. In stores and images online, the phone is always shown with the time on the external LCD. For the life of me I can't activate this, I can not get anything but an occasional flash of a blank white. Anyone know the trick for this?

Thanks to all for participating in this forum, it was this group that convinced me to go with 7-11 in the first place .. a real life-safer while coordinating a move from the other side of the world.
