The external display (manual calls it "cover display") just shows up blank when I first open or close the thing, then fades away. At no point can I get it to display anything. Looks like the software version is 9.55. The model variant is 255.01.

Any tips would be appreciated. The manual's got nothing.

In stores and images online, the phone is always shown with the time on the external LCD. For the life of me I can't activate this, I can not get anything but an occasional flash of a blank white. Anyone know the trick for this?

Thanks to all for participating in this forum, it was this group that convinced me to go with 7-11 in the first place .. a real life-safer while coordinating a move from the other side of the world.
