No, you'll be able to text. 2G is for basic communications. You'll want 3G if you have data. I think it'll work just fine as a simple phone.

2G GSM mode, does that in any way limit the functionality of the phone as a simple phone (no texting, etc)?

I did a quick glance of the Talkese web site, and saw these at these specs:

"Global 4 bands GSM network support. 850/900/1800/1900"

If those specs are accurate, this phone should work with Speakout, but only on 2G GSM mode.

The Gearbest phone should also work with Speakout, if their stated specs are correct.

Hello, I'm looking for a phone that just serves as a phone, one that is as small as possible; such as: http://www.talkase.com/ or http://www.gearbest.com/cell-p.....30253.html

At the bottom of the gearbest site it states:
Q: Is there some phones can support prepaid and Straight Talk.
A: Sorry for that there is no phone can support prepaid or Straight Talk network in our website

Can someone tell me whether or not phones such as these will work with a speakout prepaid sim?

Thank you!
