The phone comparison from their website. I wish they would update it to say coming soon instead of new. I've ehard that there were manufacturing problems as well as this and that. So the dates keep getting pushed back even further.

Update: Went back yesterday, spoke with the manager (as opposed to just an employee) and said they haven't received the phones yet and not sure why someone put out the 2720 "card". Guess I'll just keep waiting and looking online to see if there is an actual release date.

He said they put in an order 4 months ago. Due to problems out of their control, the eta date has changed a few times already.

The two on ness. Of which the one near sturgeon had the phones but no 100 airtime. Wtf eh?
Also the one on roblin didn't even have the coupons. The portage location (near kings) did havee the new phone advertised on a binder with the phone comparison printed out underneath. But even the "manager" didn't even know that they existed

I didn't know that they don't come out till dec. Just read the pdf file and not the website (click on actual phones). Suits me fine, now that I actually know 🙂

According to SO the phone should be available Dec 5th. What PDF file are you talking about?

7-11 stores sell other carriers' prepaid plans, e.g. Virgin (but also Rogers and Fido.) The link to the PDF on 7-11's website is misleading because it's labelled, "Click here to view the Speak Out handset grid."

Ya, I guess your right. I notice now that the speakout logo is only on the certain phones. Damn, Guess that means I have no choice but to spend the extra $40 on top of $100 credit.

Too much of a hassle to buy online(moved out a few weeks ago) and need a phone soon. Locally no one sells the phones for less than $30. I guess at least it's the nice looking phone and get it for cheap 🙂 Eventually use up the miniatures or possibly sell em?

Also, that new Nokia phone (2720) has a 1.3M camera, not 3.0 - must be a misprint.

I'm thinking might get the virgin m320 phone.

It won't work with SO.

Or does that really matter since the pics will look like crap anyway? Would just use the phone for emergencies, so pics would be a lot more useful 🙂

The quality of the camera probably doesn't matter much for an emergency phone. But having a camera, any resolution, is probably a good idea, e.g. to take photos at an auto accident that may assist police and/or insurance.

But now I see for $40 more, then have a new nokia phone, with a much better camera (1.3 vs 0.3). Or does that really matter since the pics will look like crap anyway? Would just use the phone for emergencies, so pics would be a lot more useful 🙂

Hi.

I recently got a plan but kept my old Nokia 1208 that I got with SO, which btw was awesome for prepaid, but now that I've become a heavier cell phone user I find the phone lacking in certain aspects (quick txt messaging, call time, call quality, stylishness lol) so I'm thinking of getting a new one but not sure what to get.

My budget is $100 max. Don't care much for gadgets (camera, mp3 etc), just want a solid talk and text phone. It would be nice if it had tri-/quadband and was a bit more stylish then the Nokia 1208. 🙂

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
