Well, I don't think anybody has got around to trying just yet

I could be totally wrong because I'm not super good with following the various types of networks, but I got the impression it doesn't use the Rogers 3g network but Bell's new one instead? Which might well be irrelevant anyway as I'm not sure Rogers has opened up their 3g for speakout (I could be wrong on that, was just my understanding from some of the iphone 3g posts).

rmora,

Greetings.

No, TELUS, Bell and Rogers are currently deploying 3G in UMTS Band II (1900) and V (850). This variant of Google Nexus One, 3G only works in UMTS Band I (2100), IV (AWS), VIII (900). At this moment, North America carriers like T-Mobile USA and WIND Mobile Canada use AWS for 3G services.

Another thing is that being 3G UMTS or 2G GSM, Rogers has been barring SpeakOut from 3G since early 2008... though there are places where either some cellsites have been misconfigured or SpeakOut web browsing service can be accessed with 3G. Voice calls in 3G can't be made.
