nevermind.. it's 'semi-working' , super slow (i'm too used to 3g speed)

qiuck question, no 3g speed on UMB right?

Another myth. UMB is all about which subnet(APN) your phone data network can join with simply ip filtering.

2G/3G has absolutely nothing to do with it. 2G/3G is how your phone connects to the local tower which usually is affected by traffic and at times, upgrade/maint on the tower.

Saying UMB is 2G is plain wrong.

It is possible that rogers have provision at the tower level to make SO SIM a secondary citizen when the traffic is heavy so they would put SO SIM to be lower in the list when bandwidth demand is high, thus drop down to GSM channels. Though that is only 'possibility' with no proof of any kind.

4s in Vancouver 8Mbps down/2Mbps up according to speedtest.

any link to the exact steps to get a iphone 4/4S (5.1.1) works with UMB?

so far I have only done this:

You have to create and install a profile for Speakout.

-Obtain the iPhone Configuration Utility from Apple, via their website. It's a free download. A windows and Mac OS/X version exists.
-Start the application.
-Click on "Configuration Profiles" in the left column.
-Click the "New" button in the top left corner.
-Under the "General" section fill in the "Name" and "Identifier" fields with whatever you like, I used:
Name: "Speakout Wireless"
-Identifier: "com.speakout.wireless"
-In the "Advanced" section, enter the following:
APN: "goam.com"
-User Name: "wapuser1"
-Password: "wap"
-Proxy Server: "10.128.1.69"
-Port: "80"
-Then attach your iPhone to the computer, it will show up in the left column under Devices. When you see it, click on it to select it.
-In the right screen, click the "Configuration Profiles" tab. You should see the "Speakout Wireless" configuration you just created.
-Click the "Install" button next to it.

did I miss something?
Thanks.

No. VOIP is an issue with Speakout Unlimited Mobile Browsing. You can only run web based applications for the most part.

Anything to do with streaming is not going to give you good results either, short of the odd short YouTube clip.
