One more question, since I turned the 3G off in order for it to get the calls to go through does that mean I won't ever be able to get the data for this phone? If I turn 3G back on if I get the data plan then won't that stop the calls again? Any suggesstions?

2G only doesn't stop you from using data. My C3 has no problem using data which is a GSM only phone, just slower.

What you saw is that the area you are in is not covered(or disabled on SO SIM) by 3G. Nothing you can do about it. Use 3G for now.

BTW, 2G is not really that bad. It is slower but not too bad if you are using apps. web pages without heavy graphics still loads in reasonable time.

No, it doesn't mean that you'll never be able to use data. Who knows what the future holds. You might want to ask people who have an iPhone who have voice in 3G. As for myself, I don't have an iPhone, but would like to get one sometime soon. I know others who have voice in 3G. It might just come down to an update.

I am in a 3g area though because on my phone I get 3G showing up on the screen. Also she isn't using the data just the voice so I could be wrong but I don't think that would have made the difference.

If you can set up the iPhone to do that, see what happens.

I also have a situation that I can't seem to understand.

I have a factory unlocked Iphone4 using SO voice and data. My wife was using a SO SIM on an old Motorola Krazr so I got a Rogers locked Iphone4 for her. I cut the SIM down and when I put it in the Rogers Iphone it says Speakout and the bars come up. When I try to dial out it says the call can't be completed as dialed. I then put her SIM in my unlocked phone and it does the same thing. I put my SIM into her phone and it says SO with the 3g activated as well so the problem can't be with the phone.

To confirm it isnt a phone issue I put her cut sim back into her Krazr and it calls out fine. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this problem?
