now just food for thought.... (my thoughts that is)

Would this be a similar set up if I were to use an Iphone for speakout. Basically, would I have to do a similar setup somewhere in the Iphones settings if I were to get an unlocked phone?

Thanks

For the iphones, you have to use the iphone configuration utility. Do a search either on this site or Redflagdeals.com for instructions on how to do this.

With the Iphone, it is pretty much the same thing. The settings menu might be slightly different, but the same information is there.

I do believe there is an app or something for the iphone that can load already configured Speakout APN settings automatically. Not an iphone person, so I do not have much for details.

You need to program in an APN setting for Speakout which I provided below. Make sure you double check on the spelling. Typos are usually why it does not work.

Text messages are not related to browsing/data, and it needs no configuration, so that is why it works.

The Nexus 7 uses an OS version better than 4.0, so the need for autoproxy and the like are much less. Most Android applications work fine through a proxy with version 4 and better.

Hey everyone,

I am not sure what I am missing here. I plugged my SIM from Speakout into the Nexus 7. I did all the setups I had to do manually in the settings.

Is recognizes the SIM, it also changed from H and 3G at the top near the bars for connectivity. But the bars are still greyed out. They are not blue, like they should be when your connected.

Now the strange thing to me is that I can send and receive texts, over Speakout Data, but I can't surf the net.

Yes I have the Mobile Data package on the Sim to surf and send pics etc.

What am I missing. It's like I am being blocked.

Is the Nexus suppose to be Rooted? (jailbroken) or am I suppose to contact Speakout to change the IMEI?
Am I suppose to use that Autoproxy App??

Help, I am 3/4 of the way there, but can't surf the net, unless hooked up to my wifi.

Thaks
