My wife is more diplomatic than I am. I tend to get hot under the collar and rush in like a bull in a china shop, where she disarms people with her smile.

So, she went into talk with the manager this afternoon, and exchanged her defective Nokia 1600 for a new Nokia 2610 without paying for the upgrade. The manager apparently started out saying that 7-11's exchange policy is only 10 days, instead of the 30 days speakout customer service told me this morning, and that she'd have to take up the matter with Nokia. However, she changed her tune after my wife asked her to phone the 1-866 customer support line with her, and she mentioned that she wasn't looking for $, just a straight exchange.

If I had went in, I probably would have came out with high blood pressure clutching my still defective 1600.

I spoke with someone from speakout customer service who said to return the phone to the 7-11 I bought it at, since 30 days hadn't passed and a return shouldn't be a problem. The hag at 7-11 said I had to wait until the manager gets in at 2. Sounds like the beginning of a hassle.

I just bought a speakout Nokia 1600 for my wife a couple of weeks ago.

Has anyone else had any problem trying to charge the 1600? No scroll bars appear. No "not charging" error messages. Is this phone a dud, or is there something I am doing wrong? I've tried attaching it to the charger when the phone is on, when it is off, and from different outlets, but no luck.

If it's a dud, I suppose I need to go through Nokia (uggh), rather than through the slurpy technician at 7-11, correct?
