My fix ended up getting the cellular service provider to disable the voice mail, and then re enable it.

This is also indicated by a "o_o" tape-spool icon near the top.

-I've searched through every option and tone menu I could for a way to curb this.
-I've removed the battery for a duration and restarted the phone.
-I've called, left, and erased a new voicemail message.
-I've disabled the "notifications" inside the VM personal options menu.

I still keep getting the same alert that the VM I received yesterday is still waiting for me. There seems to be nothing I can do on my side to remedy this.
Do I have any options besides resetting my VM every time I get a message, or outright disabling it?
