On principle alone, I refuse to use any phone that requires a micro-SIM, nano-SIM or whatever else they want to call it.

And with Windows phones specifically, I resenet the artificial limitations on image and sound file transfers.

Otherwise I might have been tempted to buy a used Lumia some day if prices went down enough, not necessarily for an every day phone but for ocassions when I might want to use those HAAC Microphones.

I don't really like the styling of most of them except for the cheaper more traditional looking 610.

I really DO like the appearence of the Windows UI, as well as the default font size, but functionally I am very used to older Symbians and see no benefit of taking even 1 day of my free time to learn something else.

the Nokia 920 will be not be a great phone for Speakout.

Windows mobile does not deal with proxies very well, and you have to cut the SIM to size.

If you are used to Anna widgets, you'll find the window's tiles colurful, but a waste of space where a lot of information could be displayed. I love my N8 where I can see the latest two emails in the mail widget, and see what is happeneing on my calendar widget and the notification widget is quite handy. And I've never liked the iconized interface of iphones and androids.

The Maps on the 920 is nicer and smoother, and everything just works quicker on the 920.

It's a 2 year newer phone, the browser is better, the screen is nicer and bigger, but i'll keep my N8.

Reasons to keep the N8

Smaller and easier to carry, FM transmitter, better camera, excellent microphone.

I was in the apple store tooling around with the iphone 5. It's a great phone, really refined, smooth and just a great phone, but as clunky as the N8 is, I still prefer it for the immediate information I need at any given moment.
