Not sure how long this was going on (not being able to receive calls) (its my mom's phone) but it was doing this well before the expiry date of a few days ago. And yes there was a balance remaining ... $7.50. At any rate, I just topped up $25 and it takes calls just fine! New balance $32.50. Thanks for all replies.

(They use the same network.) If this was not the case, you wouldn't be able to do a thing on the phone. So I second the idea that the phone is defective.

But it is nevertheless strange that this problem didn't show up while you were with Rogers.

I had the same phone years ago, with the same problem, and just got rid of it. If you have a phone that's locked to Rogers, it will work with SpeakOut.

Purchased SO sim. Can make calls but can't receive ...calls go straight to voicemail. I can't even set up voicemail (just beeps when i call my own #). Can receive sms ok. Tried going into settings and cancelling call forwarding but get "Request not completed". I am hoping it is not locked since I went to an unlocking site (found thread and link on this site) but it did not work for me. Hoping its not locked since the phone partially works.
