BTW, for what it's worth, when I first encountered the problem on not being able to call my VOIP Line from a Rogers Cell phone (but I could call it from a Telus phone), it was to my Freephoneline.ca account, which was using the new area codes for our area. By this time I had ported my landline over to that number. I started a ticket with Rogers, but it did no good. Because of that problem, I ended up starting another VOIP account with voip.ms and again ported my landline. While I can now call it from a phone using the Rogers network, there are other issues with that service as well, so there has been no perfect solution.

I called the peopleline technical support. One receiptionist tried himself to confirm that his peopleline phone can't dial this speakout number either. So it prove that it's not my own voip adapter setting problem, it is the problem of the peopleline voip network problem. He is not the professinal, so I have to wait their technician to fix this problem.

Thanks for all your response.

If peopleline voip has problem, why so many years I never have the same issue. Anyway I will ask the technical support of peopleline.

The Speakout/Rogers exchange you are using is likely relatively new, and may have been online only for a few months or less. VOIP providers tend to be slower when it comes to updating their NPA database, and usually only do it because someone complains to them. The good news is it is usually a relatively easy fix, and can get updated when the tech has time to do it.

I've had the same problem calling my VOIP lines from any phone on a Rogers network. Then when I changed my ATA from a PAP2T to a different one (an Obihai), the problem seemed to go away. Unfortunately I had other problems with the Obi and had to go back to the PAP2T and have the same problem again.

A WAG, peoplephone distinguish local and ld. it thinks your local number is local and route it to a route of local callout but that however cannot find it thus tell you it is LD and don't want to make the call.

This as suggested above sounds like the number database thing.

Thanks bridonca.

I tried (604) xxx-xxxx and 1-(604) xxx-xxxx, both the same issue, can't get through.

When I found the issue yesterday. I called the customer service of speakout, they changed another (604)number for me, but the same problem.

If peopleline voip has problem, why so many years I never have the same issue. Anyway I will ask the technical support of peopleline.

Speakout might have to update it's NPA database. Give speakout a call, and ask them to work on that.

I might have read that wrong. Instead, talk to Peopleline and ask them to update their NPA database.
