Latest technology is only good if you can make use of it. Remember, on Speakout, your email app won't even work unless you are on wifi. For that, I kinda miss my old virgin pay and talk phone. Things like MMS and visual voicemail are useless on Speakout.

Im on a jailbroken 2G iphone currently. Cost $150, and given what I'm paying to operate it, I'm very happy. That said, no mail app and the fact that 2G data slows to a standstill daily in downtown Toronto, leaves me a little dissatisfied. I guess if everything worked as it should, all day, I'd be happy.

The new phones will be sold as unlocked from the apple store.

I do the same thing with my iPhone on Spekout, but the iPhone 4 is a bit of a waste on this network. Get an iPhone 2G or 3Gs and use that. You will get the same performance out of either of those phones, as the Speakout Data is the limiting factor. You'll save a ton as well.

I wont pay 60-80 dollars a month for cell service and data plan with a 3 year contract and a locked phone!

But before you get too disappointed, it is quite easy to take a regular SO Sim and cut it down to the size of a micro sim. Many ipad users are already doing this.
