So my 3GS is running ios4.1 and I couldn't be happier. I was able to get the phone to register for notifications during the period that Speakout allowed short codes, and having notifications takes the phone to a new level. Now my question. Now that an untethered jailbreak exists for ios5, I'd like to upgrade. I'm wondering if doing so will cause me to lose my notifications, or is the registration process a one time thing? I'd be interested in hearing from someone who knows for sure as I don't want to take the risk otherwise.
