Its a stock message, so whenever you cant make a connection for whatever reason, you will get that message. If you are having an issue with a specific site, send me a link and I'll give it a try.

Thanks Andrew. I don't think that signal strength is the problem (I connect to one server OK and when I attempt to connect to another site, I get the error message). It seems as though secure/encrypted sites tend to trigger the error message more frequently but that may be just by chance. Any additional suggestions would be welcome.

I've gotten that message as well, most often because I do not have a decent enough signal. Of course the server for the website you are visiting could be down as well, but that is a little less likely.

This is not a SO issue but I'm hoping some members may have a solution to a problem that I'm experiencing. When I visit many (but not all) websites with the Safari mobile browser, the URL search comes to a grinding halt after about a minute and the following error message appears on the screen "Cannot Open Page Safari Could Not Open This Page Because The Server Stopped Responding"

I've checked the Apple website and others have encountered the same error message but I wasn't able to find the silver bullet. Does anyone have any solutions??
