First of all, thanks for this site. There's a lot of good information here, and I apologize if this has already been answered. But I'm planning a trip to Canada in a few months, and I know for a fact that my American cell phone won't work there. I was hoping to pick up a cheap phone I could have available for emergencies while I'm in the country. I wouldn't need data or text or anything like that, just a phone that I could use to call the US and receive calls from the US if necessary. I understand that I can get an unlocked cell phone and insert a Speak Out SIM card into it, but the Speak Out website says that "it must be an unlocked GSM 850/1900MHz, HSPA handset". I've seen plenty of cheap GSM 850/1900 phones on Ebay, but not many mention HSPA. I googled it and it looks like it has something to do with network speed, so I don't know how important it is for the phone to explicitly support HSPA, or if just GSM would be sufficient. Can anybody help me?
