The only thing I've noticed that doesn't work is the Night Sky iPhone app. It must download the sky map in a different way than the Map app. People say you can't download an app from the Apple App Store - haven't tried it myself. Podcasts and music might be affected, too.

if your on android the "browsing" limitations is a minor hiccup.

Just root your phone. (google doomlord one click root for gingerbread androids)

Download autoproxy app from the market and set up the same apn settings into the autoproxy app.

You will have a wide variety of apps that will work using the autoproxy app.

I forgot to mention that I'm on Android so that's how it works for me.
Sounds like iPhone is different, better, in this case.
So, depending on what phone you have, there's your answer. YMMV

And, yes, I hope they enable data again too. I was kind of getting used to it. Maybe that was the whole idea!

With an iPhone correctly configured, you can still use the maps app, email app, Facebook app, YouTube, etc. The only apps that do not work on the SO browsing plan are instant messaging apps, like Whatsapp, iMessenger, etc., and push notifications in all apps are intermittent at best. It may not be a "for real" data plan, but for $10/month it's actually pretty good. I have WiFi at home, work and many other places I go, and on WiFi my iPhone is fully functional.
I am really hoping that our 3-month data freebie period was a test for an upcoming SO data plan offering, similar to Rogers. Here's hoping!

Exactly as stated. There was never unlimited data offered. Only unlimited browsing. Big difference.

Actually it's not data anymore, just unlimited browsing which is all they ever officially offered.
So browsing just means going to websites with your browser - so you can at least get your gMail from the gMail website, for example.

The unlimited data was an unannounced perk that we got for about 3 months but it's over now. SO never acknowledged we could get it, and afaik never even officially mentioned it. So now we're just back to getting what we paid for, and no more ;-(( Desole
