Speakout voice and texting should work on this phone if it is unlocked. You can use home and hotspot wifi also.

As an option, you can subscribe to Speakout's $10 a month data plan, so you can web browse without being near wifi. You get a better experience with wifi though.

First timer here. My son and I have been using SO for a couple of years - phone & text options mostly. Now my son wants to buy a Nexus S off Craig's List for his SO sim. Has anyone done this? Can you use home and free hotspots to connect to the internet for free?
