Not sure here as I don't use one, but it will likely only work from a wifi connection

wifi is not an option as the GPS unit is not wifi enabled. I have tried almost everything I can think of, but communication cannot be established.
Could this be because Speakout is using a proxy to access the web?

Did you read the gps tracker's manual about setting up gprs? I don't have a gps tracker but was interested in one so downloaded the manual. The manual for the unit I looked at had port 9000 for gprs and talked about sending a command to switch between SMS and gprs – here's the link to the manual I was looking at – http://www.oem-drivers.com/201.....sitioning/

I never bought one so all I know is what's in the manual . …

Does anyone know if the speakout SIM card with data package would work with a GSM gps tracker?
I'm trying to get it to work, but have been unsuccessful so far.
The GPS has been set up (APN name, username & password) attempting to send coordinates over http (port 80) to a webserver.
The SIM card has been activated and I have verified that data works (APN name, user & pass) on a unlocked blackberry.

Is there something I'm missing? As far as I know the GPS unit is transmitting over GPRS using the http protocol.
In fact I can get the GPS device to transmit location over SMS, but just not over http.

Should this be possible?
