Does your gmail account on the 3GS still work? There was some confusion about this a while back whether exchange stops working for new gmail accounts or new devices after Jan 2013. From what you are saying, looks like you've confirm that the exchange stops working for existing emails on new devices after Jan 2013.

I currently have a 4s that I've setup the ios mail using exchange last year and it still works. However, with the 4s. for some reason, once it detects a 3G signal, push notifications will not work (whether you are on wifi or not). I have it setup as 15 min fetch.

The gmail app works just like the mobile web browser version. Push works great when on wifi but but there is no notification when only on Speakout's UMB because it uses TCP ports other than 80/443. You have to manually retrieve/check for new messages when on 3G as there is no fetch option.

Either way, Speakout's UMB is really bad for mail and SMS apps, especailly with IOS. I am at the point where I am ready to move to a full data because of the UMB limitations. I've asked Speakout a couple of times about their offerings on full data but they are not saying anything.

Sadly, I may have to move to another provider that has full data on a prepaid plan once my SO minutes run out.

I am trying to set up my new iPhone 4S on SO to use gmail via exchange in the iPhone mail app, same as I did on my old iPhong 3G. However, I kept getting an error about not being able to connect to server. After some web searching, I found this:

http://support.google.com/a/bi.....er=2716936

Has anyone else run into this issue? Any workaround? Does this mean there's no way to set up any kind of mail account now to work on the SO 3G connection?? (existing devices with an account set up will continue to work, but new setups can't be done)

Sorry if there's already a thread about this, I couldn't find any.
