Speak Out's browsing is rather limited. It is not really Internet except for the browsing part. Only traffic that can pass through Roger's proxy will work. Google maps uses ports other than port 80, so it will not work. However the web based google maps should work, though I never tried it. I will have to run it on my laptop to make sure.

I'm using a Palm Treo 650 on SO and paid for the unlimited browsing. I installed Google Maps onto the phone but everytime I try to use it, it comes with the "Network Unavailable (Error: network timeout)" error msg. Has anyone else seen this and know what the fix is?

I don't know if the problem is Google Maps itself, or GM working on the Palm, or if it's the SO ULB that doesn't support GM so I'm hoping other people have some experience with this.

Thx 🙂
