Find the app you want to disable. You should see a 'Force stop', 'Uninstall updates', and/or 'Disable'.

Depending on your version of Android, you must uninstall the updates to see the disable button.

Of course, you may have issues if you disable an app that needs to run.

You can renable the app by finding it in the Play store.

None of this requires root.

Then use Titanium Backup to 'Freeze' the stock apps you don't like. It doesn't remove them, but they will disappear from the apps listing.

Battery problem fixed completely ever since Ive got an extended one from mpj. For a messaging app, I think Viber is pretty good. I occationally use Yelp to find interesting stuff if I travel to a new country or city. And I prefer Firefox over any other browser on Android.
How can I uninstall stock apps??
