Thanks for the insight ID01. With the next iPhone getting a nano sim and LTE, it looks like I will be using my iPhone 4S for a while...unless I venture back to the evil big 3 (Rogers, Telus, Bell). If I could get what I currently get with Speakout with full data instead of UMB for like $40+tax I would switch, but the plans are $65+, it's nuts.

Seem like this requires more confirmation.

I used the the exact sim card that was cut into a microsim on an Iphone 4S, works

I put it into the unlocked Roger version of the HTC One X, for the life of it, it could not get a signal. It certainly recognizes the sim card, cause otherwise, it would say "no sim card detected" but it can't get a signal while the Iphone 4S works flawlessly.

I then put that same simcard in an adapter into a Galaxy nexus, it, again, works flawlessly.

I really do not know why it did not work, but like I said, my personal anecdotes explains that it does not work. I would be more then happy to see more people give me some insight. All I'm saying is that, for the life of it, I could not get the HTC One X to work (and darn it do I love that phone. flawless shape, nice speed, awesome camera… etc…) now I have to stays with Galaxy Nexus due to this while otherwise, I would have been using HTC One X LTE.

Some other oddity: My old Samsung Galaxy II LTE worked with voice, but have no download speed on data. I guess it is my personal bias that LTE have something to do with it. Since I have tried three LTE phone and none of them works properly when all the non-LTE phone works flawlessly.

The international HTC One X does not have LTE and I know 100% that it works with Speakout. My friend is currently using it as I am typing this.

For the Rogers HTC One X, it does support LTE but that does not mean it only support LTE. Rogers has GSM/3G and LTE support. I am sure it will work with Speakout.

Difference between international and Rogers versions, here is the link.

Ok, first of all, it would be suicide to release a phone that does not do 3G. No one in Canada or the US has a robust enough LTE network to be LTE only. There has to be a 3G fallback.

I have no idea why 3G would not work with ID01, but the HTC One X specs clearly state it can do 3G. The only exception I can think of is if you bought the Sprint version, but why would you want to do that?

Take a look here and scratch your head.

No, it does NOT work with HTC One X dual core LTE version. You will not even get a signal, much less 3G data.

This is a personal anecdotes.

Go ahead and buy the OneX. It is a great phone. The only thing I do not like about that phone is no ability to swap battery out. Other than that, the phone is as good as an S3 in my opinion.
Don't worry about the LTE portion of the phone. Speakout only has access to the 3G network of Rogers anyway, so your Speakout SIM card will not connect to any of the LTE tower.
your LTE phone will not utilize the LTE band and will act like any regular 3G phone. I have the Optimus LTE and similar for me, I only connect as fast as what Speakout SIM allows me.

I hope that helps.

I currently have an iPhone 4S on Speakout and it works well, but UMB is getting really annoying when so many apps don't work right with it and I can't d/l apps on the road. I'm seriously considering going with Android as I can easily install a proxy program and use UMB like a regular data plan. The only Android phone I'm interested in is the One X, does Speakout work well with this phone? I read a post saying that Speakout doesn't work well with LTE phones so I want to make sure before I buy one. Thanks.
