it meets most of my needs though and rooting would not slow down or hurt your phone. rooting is just a way for you to do things that is not allowed out of the box.

the closest equivalent i can think of is that you are being given administrator right to a typical Windows machine.

Now if you do something without knowing what you are doing(the same like modifying the registry under windows), no one can help(other than re-install).

Just wondering, do you have to have a rooted phone to proceed with the proxy and use 3G?
Is there a way to not root the phone? I'm just afraid that rooting will slow down and ruin my phone..

Also, if I install the proxy, will I get charged more for using the 3G or just charged $10/month for unlimited browsing?
If I install the proxy, does that mean I will be able to use 3G anywhere unlimited in the zones that Rogers cover?

Oh, and I'm thinking about using LG Optimus 3D, or LG Optimus 2X, or LG Optimus Black. Do you know if any of these phones I mentioned will work with Speakout SIM card?
