and yes I have rooted the phone (for adfree and some other things), now to adjust the iptables is it the same linux commands like iptables -F or more with file edits? Is there a guide for that on here or elsewhere?

EDIt: the what will work part was for if any voip app can be routed to work thru other means, for example a voip that works with another port, or even set up a server at home that forwards port 80 or another port to a voip port (port redirection) so then i connect to my home, and then use that connection to make international / long distance calls

it would be quite complicated. It is possible to create a tunnel via http(you need control on the other side) then run ip over this tunnel and you can get full ip capability. This is however quite a hack and goes beyond simple iptable stuff. Beside, the latency is going to be unbelievably high and not suitable for VOIP anyway.

I once did it for those 'charged public hotspot' by creating a ip tunnel over DNS. That however requires full linux/windows as the tunnel program needs something beyond the base linux utilities. Good for browsing, even RDP but nothing like voice/video is going to be usable.

VOIP will not work even if you figured out how to put it though using a proxy. Rogers has other effective mechanisms in place to prevent VOIP going through Speakout data.

You will not be able to get any VOIP successfully working through Speakout data though. VOIP will still work fine through wifi, of course.

this is the international edition (it even came with the friggin europe socket charger it seems... thank god for micro-USB B chargers lying around...) which is unlocked and has been rooted and is updated to the latest firmware.

Also, I was wondering would skype out work with this? Or google voice? I can install the autoproxy thing if needed but was wondering if anyone else got it working.
