assuming your phone is not locked(or locked to rogers/fido), you should see speakout and the usual 3-5 bars on the top left. will initially show rogers but change quickly

Ah thanks for the info.

found a dude on kijiji who will cut it for 5$.
Went to the store to buy a new sim, called customer service and they transfered over everything no problemo.

When i bring my card and unactivated rogers iphone to this guy with the sim cutter tomorrow, it should say speaout on the phone once i pop the cut sim in? I just want to make sure it works once he gives me back the cut sim. Not leaving his house till it works!

yes, cutting can be hit and miss. a cutter usually gives you a higher hit rate. that said i have one that like yours is not seen by my N7(while all the others are fine).

for this sim, it is not doomed just would not work in iphone. you can get a new one but have to call them to transfer the number to the new SIM(the usual you have to prove ownership of the number etc.)

Alrighty so i cut my speakout sim card down to fit like a micro sim in my iphone4.

iphone is still on the welcome screen and just says No SIM. The lines of my cut down card seem to match my girlfriends micro sim telus card prettty exact, but its still saying No SIM. I must have messed it up somehow. How exact do the lines on the card have to be?

Im assuming my speakout sim is no longer good, so when I buy a new one at 7-11, do I have to do anything weird to associate my account and number from my butchered sim card to the new one?
