I think they ask for the IMEI just to make sure the phone is compatible with SpeakOut. You would be surprised how many people have tried to activate a CDMA phone on a GSM carrier ( and vice-versa) After the SIM is successfully activated, you may move it to whatever phone you wish.

Thank you for the reply.

But when I register the speakout SIM card for my old phone online, they ask me to input the cell phone IMEI number; now I move the SIM card to another cell phone, the IMEI number is not the same in their record, that is I want to know any problem if this is not updated.

I know it is common people move the SIM card from one phone to another phone, why Speakout (also other carrier ) need IMEI number when register for the SIM card ?

Sorry to ask the question, I don't understand, thank you again.

Just do as you said. Take the SIM card and put it in another unlocked phone. Your account is tied to the SIM card, not the phone. The answer is also found on the home page of this site.

If I take out my existing speakout phone SIM card to another new unlock cell phone, suppose it should work.

Do I need to call Speakout customer specialist about the change of the new phone IMEI number? any fee? Or I do not need to inform?

Thank you information, have a nice day.
