I phoned 7-11 speakout customer service, who told me to go into the message app settings through to SMS Service Center and check that +17057969300 should be there. It was not. I put the number in, and it now works!

I'm new to the forums. I'm also new to unlocked phones. I might as well be new to cell phones at all, since I haven't carried one since about 1998!

Anyway, I decided our family should all get phones, but didn't want to be on contract, so I got some unlocked phones direct from China, and then I got SO sims and some credits.

They all work fine for both incoming and outgoing voice calls.

2 of them can only receive text messages, they cannot seem to send text messages. One phone is Android 4.2, the other is Java based.

Is there some setting somewhere that could be causing this?
