I seldom use the phone to talk and if I do, I prefer just plain old cell network, more stable.

But with the C3's limited screen, I am not sure how usable it is to go through the web pages. I am wondering if there is some special java ME apps that make it a bit nicer. On my LG Omptinus One, there is specific google voice app that integrate nicely in the messaging system so I can seamlessly send/receive SMS via the GV account.

If you you are looking to use the VOIP, it won't work. Limitations of the C3 phone, Rogers network, and Google Voice make that a no go. As for free SMS messages, I see no reason why it should not work, just use the browser.
