You go in profile...general... Option... Click right until you have a choice between silent or beep 1,2,3. You select silent and you are in business.....

Are there settings in the profile for a "quiet period" so that I can set the phone to not ring for messages or calls during certain hours of the day but ring others? Ie not during 9-3pm for school/work?

If it does that, that would be work picking up the phone for me. Does anyone know how to do a similar setting on a Nokia C3?

I just got an Alcatel 356 phone on 7-Eleven's holiday special. I'm reasonably smart and have read the manual and explored the phone's options, but can't figure out how to turn off the maddening keypad sound and start-up/shut-down sounds...

Well, never mind! I'm returning this phone—it's terrible! I don't care if the keypad sounds can be turned off or not. The keys themselves are tiny and hard to use. The whole thing just screams "cheap!" Buyer beware!
