2. Do you have to wait till the battery is completed drawn before recharging it?

No.

With Li-Ion batteries you shouldn't do that. You will extend battery life if you let the phone discharge until it indicates a recharge is needed and then ASAP start recharging it. If you let the battery discharge completely or if you keep recharging it when it is already more than 70% charged then you will shorten its life.

I am a newbie to this phone - never was a big cell phone user but 2 questions if anyone can help me out:

1. Is there an easy way to lock the keypads of this phone so if i put it in my pocket while still on, the buttons dont get inadverinently punched?

2. Do you have to wait till the battery is completed drawn before recharging it?

TIA

Hello,

That issue on how to lock the keypad was brought up a little awhile ago on this site. Read this thread, especially posts 5 and 6 in the thread:

https://www.speakoutwireless.ca/speak/petro-canada-rates-and-plans/nokia-1208/page-1/

No, you do not have to let the battery drain completely before recharging. The Nokia 1208 uses a lithium-ion battery which doesn't get "memory" effect, like the older nickel cadium batteries used to.
