I am currently talking to j-beda about one, but I might want to get an extra one for my wife in case she wants to switch over from Petro-Canada's service if used cards can be given a new number!

It turns out the phone we bought was broken, so it was returned and now I have a completely unregistered SIM card. The Speakout people are reportedly happy to switch area codes for people without charge, but if you want I can try setting it up for you already with an Ottawa number. I assume you already have a cell phone to plug it into? If not, I could include one of the Speakout cell phones I am no longer using - it is the simplest cheapest one - the Nokia 1661. I used it for almost 6 months before inheriting a fancier phone from a friend who was upgrading their Rogers phone.

As for pricing, for just the SIM card I should be able to put it into a regular envelope for whatever the mail costs these days - how about $11? If you want the phone too, I can send you the phone and SIM for a total of $46 plus whatever Canada Post wants for the little box it all fits into.

I thought I replied to this last night. Must have forgotten to hit the "post" button or something.

Anyway, I just bought a new SO phone for my mom who didn't like the buttons on her old phone. After I get her SIM card and settings all working on the new phone I will have an extra SIM card that you can have here in Peterborough. I won't try to set it up with an Ottawa number as you can do that when you get it.

I live in Ottawa, and the closest 7-Eleven is Peterborough. Is there an established member on this forum that would be able to purchase a SIM Card at a store for me and mail it to me? I'd pay the cost of the card, shipping, and a bit extra. I want to use my new LG Optimus Quantum Windows Phone with Speakout since they seem to have the best rates.

Any help would be great, thanks.
