GSM in Europe and most of the rest of the World work on different frequencies than GSM in North America. As a result most of the phones sold over there only work on the the two frequencies required for operation.

Nokia has, for the Same model, a lot of A and B versions, one will work in North America only and one in Europe.

If he bought a quad-band GSM phone in Europe, and it is unlocked, then it should work with a 7-11 Sim.

It sound slike 7-11 is the best deal... He brought his Nokia GSM phone from Poland and I assume I can just put a 7-11 Sim card in and be on my way.
