Seems to be most posts are selling sim cards for $30 or more. If one buys $100 worth of minutes you get the current phones for half price. The least expensive phone is $59, therefore the cost of the sim that comes with it is just less than $30. For those that want $100 worth of minutes why would they want to buy a sim for $30 or more when they can also get the phone for the same price?

I can understand buying the sim privately when you do not want $100 worth of minutes.

Am I missing something here?

I could never understand this logic. If I want new SIM card I would never buy from this or other site. Just Buy new Phone.
But that's me.

Because they already have a phone that they'd rather use instead of the cheap one from SO. (Admittedly they could sell that phone privately, however, unlike in the "old days" new phones are locked.)
