I had a Rogers pay as you go several years ago, and a bell contract after that as well. I hated the both! They make you pay for incoming text and calls, so I disagree that it would be painless 😛

You have a better variety of plans to work with also. FIDO especially has a decent $20 plan that has 50 minutes and evenings and weekends. So it would cost about $35 for the month total. I think you would be hard pressed to get a better deal for a month. Canadian cell carrier are all universally lousy in price, service and product.
