Hi Ed,
Yep, I have one 1600 and one 3220.
I found the battery for the 3220, the only thing wrong with it now is it's missing a rubber edge thingy. It's a much better phone than the 1660 (it has a camera) ... $40 for that one.
I'm assuming it will work fine in Niagara, but you'd have to get a SIM card and activate it for that area (presumably, Speakout would be the cheapest way to do this, but then, you'd need to buy the card with the phone... you're probably better off to go with them from the get-go).

Do you still have Nokia 1600 available? Will this phone be good to use in Niagara area?
I live in Hull ~ University , so pick-up will be in place.
Thanks.

Update: only Nokia 3220, 1xNokia 1600, and Motorola C139 left.

Prepaid cell phones in NZ and Australia couldn't be easier. It's the way cell phone service should be. 😉 When I was in Australia I bought a SIM card for $25 from Telstra, which came with $25 of credit on it. Essentially, the SIM card was free. You topped up by visiting the Telstra website and using your credit card, and once it was set up, (I believe) you could use the phone to send SMS to top-up as well.

Telstra wouldn't work everywhere, so I did exactly the same thing with Vodaphone, and if one didn't work, I just slipped the other SIM card in.

Unfortunately I think the phone will be sold today, but you can buy cheap phones there (~$50) that will work just fine.

Hi Andrew,

I would be interested in the New Zealand phone w/SIM card. I'll be in NZ next winter and had been researching my options. Sounds like it should do the trick. Can you fill me in on your cell plan when you were there? Is the NZ phone unlocked? Will the number still be effective?

Anybody else have advice for pre-paid NZ?

Hi all,
I'm doing a little spring cleaning and have found I have too many phones lying around that could be more useful to others... here are the details.
Only one of these phones has a SIM card.

2x Nokia 1600 Speakout, all original equipment and box, never used. No SIM card. $25 each
1x Nokia 3220 Rogers, probably still locked to Rogers network, missing one rubber edge piece, also, no battery. Great phone, though. No SIM card. $10
1x Motorola C139 GSM Speakout USA, all original equipment and box, never used. No SIM card. $25
1x Motorola C113 GSM from New Zealand, with New Zealand SIM card. Has manual and European charger. $25

Email me if you're interested in any of these, actual shipping costs for buyer, will ship anywhere from Ottawa, Canada.
- Andrew
