If I were to buy the cheapest Petro Phone say the Nokia 1208 $59.00. Could I take the sim card out and put it into a Roger's or Fido phone and work via petro canada.

Rogers, yes. Fido, no. SO and PCM use the Rogers network so any phone that's locked to Rogers will work OK. But Fido, even though owned by Rogers, is considered a different network.'

You could also use any unlocked GSM phone that operates on the 850/1900 bands. There are several sources for such phones in Canada, new and refurb'd, at attractive prices. Just search this forum for links.

Rogers has a great selection of phones compared to petro.
