Here's how I came to this confusing state: I drove to the nearest 7-11, which is on the Ontario side as there are none on the Quebec side, to buy some minutes to trasnfer on my SpeakOut Nokia phone. It had expired and I missed trhe 45-day deadline to add minutes without having to re-activate. I ended up buying $25. Good2Go minutes as the store didn't have SpeakOut minutes nor was it a 711 store anymore but a Quickie store. The clerk obligingly sold me a $25-minute Going2Go to add to my phone saying that they could be added to the phone without problem and that 711 no longer existed in this region. I contacted SpeakOut to re-activate my phone but they would not since there are no stores in this region anymore and the Going2Go card was not accepted in their system. Rather than take another NO (by calling Going2Go), for an answer, I asked the question in this forum, hoping someone could clarify the situation. I'm still hoping that someone else has had a similar experience and will let me know how they resolved this issue. Thanks for your help. Lou

You are talking about Good2go, right? There is no such a phone company as Going2go as far as I know.

A Good2go SIM will only work with Good2go minutes. A Speakout SIM will only work with Speakout minutes. You cannot use Good2go minutes on a Speakout SIM, and vice versa.

The SIM is where your account information is stored, not the phone. That makes it easy to change phones. Unlocked GSM and HSPA phones work with these SIMs. Rogers phones also work with these SIMs, as do phones sold by Ztar mobile, like Speakout, Petro Canada, and Good2go.

Sorry, I guess my question wasn't expressed clearly enough. Yes, I meant using Going2Go minutes on a SO Sim card phone. I gather you think it's possible to use the SO phone and Sim with Going2Go minutes? Thanks for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated. Lou

I am assuming you are talking about Good2go right? Although also run by Ztar, Good2go will only accept Good2go credits. Other than the phones, nothing between Good2go or speakout will be interchangeable.
