I would not be surprised there is some collusion involved. I would not read anything into this move. As a small silver lining, Rogers allows one to use whatever device you want now.

They state, "The service will also give you access to more content previously not included like Google Maps, Gmail and other applications (compatible device required)."

I suspect that SpeakOut (which uses the Rogers network) will follow through with a similar service upgrade. However, they're going to have to be careful with price. If they bump the cost by a similar amount (from the current $10 to $13 a month) they risk losing customers.
