Your phone is a GSM phone. Bell/Telus does not support GSM, only 3G HSDPA at the 850 mhz/1900 mhz frequency band. Sorry about that.

The Rogers network supports both GSM and 3G HSDPA using the 850 mhz/1900 mhz band.

Thanks bridonca, that is VERY helpful and appreciated info.

so would the Bell/Telus 3G networks not work with my particular phone? I was sort of purposely trying to find something that used the Bell network because I live outside the city (close to Richmond, and a cottage close to Arnprior) I had heard that I may have better luck with Bell rather than Rogers because of this.

But at this point I just want something that will work with my phone! so I will definately look into your suggestions.

thanks again.

A SIM card from Speakout, Rogers, FIDO, Petro Canada, Good2go, or Chatr should work with your Samsung M3200 quad band 2G GSM phone. All these carriers use Rogers towers.

Sadly, President's Choice Mobile SIM cards only work on 3G HSDPA phones that support the 850mhz/1900mhz frequency. President's Choice Mobile uses the Bell/Telus network.

Other carriers that use the Bell/Telus 3G network are Bell, Telus, Koodo, and Virgin.

Hi, not sure if this is the right spot to post this or not... but here goes!

Ive just moved to Ottawa from the UK. Ive brought my Samsung M3200 phone with me and paid 15 pounds to o2 get the code to unlock it. I have been emailed the code, now I just need a new sim card to pop in my phone to unlock it (I think?!).

Yesterday I bought a PC mobile SIM card... when it didnt work... I phoned them and have been told my phone is not compatible with them.

does anyone know how you go about figuring out which sim card would work with your phone?

Im not very technically savy, so this has been a process for me to even get to this point. any advice would be greatly appreciated!
