We're going down to a 7-day all-inclusive vacation in the Mayan Riviera in Nov, near Playa del Carmen/Tulum area. From what I've been reading online, the wifi sucks at our resort so I was thinking about picking up a prepaid SIM card to use for data for some light surfing (checking email, maybe Skype if we're really lucky). Does anyone here have any experience with Mexican prepaid cell carriers? From a quick google search, it sounds like the recommended one is TelCel. Have any of you used it? Do you recommend it or some other carrier? How much does it cost? Are there any gotchas?

Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.
