The LG 160 does not take sim cards. Consider it a burner phone, it will make calls and not much more.

The HTC Magic will never work on Canada's 3G network, because the frequencies are incompatible. I looks like it will work on Wind mobile, but I heard rumours of call reliabilty problems between this phone and th wind mobile network. There might be another version of the Magic out that could capitalize on Bell/Telus/Virgin's 3G frequencies. It should work on Roger's network as a 2g phone though

There are no guarantees when PC telecom will offer 3G phone. I got my info from a customer service rep from PC Telecom, it will happen eventually,

If you live in Alberta, you are better off with PC telecom, Virgin, Bell, or Telus, because they all use the same network, and network is much more robust in Alberta than the Rogers network. Roger's, FIDO, Speakout, Petro Canada use the Rogers network. They should all work in Calgary though.

Thanks bridonca,

I am supposed to use my HTC magic (Quad bands, unlocked),
hope I can use the SIM card in my phone.

Because they didn't sell SIM card, I am planning to buy the cheapest one with $24
http://mobile.presidentschoice.....iteLang=EN
Which is $34 with $10 airtime.

I am in NW Calgary, is Bell or Telus service good in your area?

If the google map, gmail and google voice are included in the $7, it is good for me.

I like it, but they have issues also. The phone cards only last 60 days at most. They also use older CDMA technology, so your phone selection is rather limited. If you have good Bell or Telus service in your area, this is a good service for you.

They have been hinting that they are soon going to have 3G technology, so the phone selection will improve when that happens. They have some decent plans also.

Overall, I have nothing nasty to say about them, if your needs fit their plan, you will have no problem.

Seems that the rate (20c) is lower than SO.
Unlimited data (7$/mon) is also lower.

But does the service is the same as SO regarding the data plan? (OK with gmail google map?)

Thanks.
